Infosys, Anthropic partner to deliver Agentic AI for telecom and regulated Industries

Infosys has partnered with AI safety and research firm Anthropic to deliver enterprise-grade artificial intelligence solutions for complex and highly regulated industries, starting with telecommunications and expanding into financial services, manufacturing and software development.

The companies said the collaboration will combine Anthropic’s Claude family of AI models, including its coding-focused Claude Code tools, with Infosys’ Topaz AI platform to automate complex workflows, accelerate software delivery and enable agentic AI deployments with stronger governance and transparency controls.

The engagement will begin in the telecom sector through a dedicated Anthropic Center of Excellence that will focus on building and deploying AI agents tailored to carrier-specific operational environments.

The two companies said the initiative is aimed at moving beyond AI pilots and demos toward production-scale enterprise deployments in industries where regulatory, operational and risk constraints are high. Enterprises face considerable challenge in moving from pilots to actual deployments. A recent report said that nearly half of India’s biggest firms have abandoned pilots.

The partnership places agentic AI at the center of the roadmap. Unlike conventional AI assistants that respond to prompts, agentic systems are designed to independently execute multi-step tasks such as compliance reviews, claims processing, network and service operations workflows, and end-to-end code generation and testing. The companies plan to use Anthropic’s agent development toolkits together with Infosys’ domain and integration capabilities to build long-running, task-oriented AI systems.

In telecom, the companies plan to develop AI agents to support network operations modernization, customer lifecycle management and service delivery automation. The focus is on reducing operational complexity while maintaining auditability and regulatory alignment.

In financial services, the collaboration targets risk analysis, compliance reporting and hyper-personalized customer interaction models. In manufacturing and engineering, the firms expect AI-assisted design and simulation to reduce R&D cycles and increase pre-production testing iterations. In software engineering, Claude Code will be used to support code writing, testing and debugging. Infosys said it is already deploying Claude Code internally within its engineering organization to build delivery playbooks and best practices.

The announcement reflects a broader shift among global IT services firms and AI model developers toward joint go-to-market models that pair frontier AI platforms with vertical integration, regulatory controls and large-scale enterprise delivery capability.
